This is the fourth article in a series about how to depolarize the culture war in the West.
Mainstream culture today is pop culture, and online gaming has become one of the most important pop cultural phenomena. The Hill:
The culture war can deescalate if the entertainment industry creates three different versions of each movie, tv series and online game: 1) a libertarian edition, 2) a woke edition, and 3) a culturally conservative edition. For more details read articles here, here, and here. But the movie or gaming industry will perhaps not be interested in this solution. Fortunately, it’s possible to mod several games.
Photoshop license costs $21 a month, and 3ds Max costs about the same. Autodesk:
The bad news is that many texture and audio files in games are not accessible for modding because they are encrypted. But one can hack gaming companies to get access. The Verge:
Individuals (freethinkers with a rebel mindset) who work for gaming companies will perhaps be willing to secretly help the modding community since it will contribute to deescalate the culture war.
It will be even better if responsible white hat hackers, who are trusted by gaming companies (and the movie industry), create an unofficial secure online service only for professional modders who create apolitical and non-vulgar editions of games (and movies or tv series), so that cultural conservatives and others can download these mods. This will protect files that are not meant to be public.
Or at least give me the files 🙂 🙂
So that I can learn modding in order to change games like Elder Scrolls Online for example. Why do I care so much about games? Because I use them to take focus away from the discomfort of narcolepsy. Unfortunately, I’m neurologically wired in such a way that wokeness or libertinism/vulgarity in games deactivates hyper-focus.
Why should hackers or insiders in the gaming industry help moderate cultural conservatives? Because it will contribute to depolarizing a culture war that is on the brink of destroying constitutional democracies, and because it’s in the economic longterm interest of Big Tech to create a metaverse that also has room for moderate cultural conservatives.
If the modding path is much more open and inclusive (for games, movies and tv series) it will be so fun to learn the art of modding that I will not have time for politics. Will therefore explore this path and check if enough modders and white hat hackers are interested in the project, since modding is very time consuming and can therefore not be done by one individual when there are hundreds of AAA games out there.
